The Great Pyramid of Giza (also called Pyramid of Khufa) is the oldest and largest ofthe three pyramids in the Cairo and is the only one of the Seven Wonders of theAncient World that survives substantially intact. It is believed The pyramid was built as a thomb for Fourth dynasty Egyptian King Khufu (Cheops in Greek) and consturcted over a 20 year period.  Thre are three known chamgers inside the Great Pyramid which is lower chamber, Queen's Chamber and King's chamber.  the lowest chamber is cut into thebedrock upon which the pyramid was build and was unfinished.  the others is Queen's and King's chamber.  it were higher up wihtin the pyramid structure.  The Great Pyramid consits of more than 2.3million limestone blocks.  At completion, the Great Pyramid was surfaced by white `casing stones' (slant-faced,but flat topped blocks of highly polished white limestone).  The architecture was planned by architect, Hernon-Kufu relatives.  The Greeks believed that Pyramid construction technique which is slave labour was used modern Egyptologist accep that it was built by many tens of thousands of skilled workers.  Thye camped near the pyramids and work for a salary or as a form of paying taxes until the construction completed.  Their cemeteries were discovered in 1990 by archeologist Zahi Hawass and Mark Lehner.
